Welcome to the cat cafe -- Coffee and Cats!

It's a quiet, well-run cat cafe featuring a half dozen permanent residents and another half dozen adoptable cats. The coffee is good, fresh, and prompt, and the sole employee is ... well... he looks a bit like he should be in a gang with his height, long hair, and goatee. However, he's incredibly gentle, shy, and absolutely wonderful with cats and small children. (Even if he's afraid he will break something.)

Come in, find a seat, and enjoy the atmosphere. Open from 11am to 2pm and 6pm to 9pm every day.

[it takes a while before closing time, but eventually he starts cleaning up and carrying the other cafe cats into the back room]

[Chester is curious where they're going and tries to follow into the back room.]

[aceofcrows]

[he won't stop him from following. curious cats are just a thing. after about thirty minutes though, he come back out with Chester under his arm and a cardboard carrier in his other hand.]

I went ahead and fed him for the night. We can use this to carry him safely home.

A cat to-go container!

Are you going to come with me and help with things? You can stay over again if you want.

[aceofcrows]

[he chuckles and helps get a not very happy Chester into the container]

I'll come. There's a pet store near your apartment.

[shootykawa]

[He's so eternally grateful.]

Thank you! I need all the help I can get. Sorry Chester... who is probably going to get a new name.

[aceofcrows]

[he hands the box over to Oikawa]

You hold him. I'll get my things and then we can go.

[shootykawa]

[He takes the box and tries to talk to it soothingly.]

It's just for a little while, I promise. We're going to take you home then you can be mad at me and pout like the Ace you remind me of.

[aceofcrows]

[he smiles tenderly as he heads back to get his things. he finally comes out with his street clothes on and locks up the front of the shop.]

We'll hit the pet store first. You'll need a litter box before he gets to roam.

[shootykawa]

That's probably a good idea. No pooping in Oikawa-san's shoes, okay?

[aceofcrows]

Ah... hopefully not.

[Chester chirrups in reply... then mews in sadness because he's still in the box]

[shootykawa]

He sounds so sad... we should let him out.

[aceofcrows]

[he touches Oikawa's shoulder lightly]

Don't. The traffic will scare him, and if he bolts, you'll never catch him again. We'll get the supplies quickly and then get him up to your apartment. We can spend some time with him so he gets used to the place, and you, there.

[shootykawa]

And you're going to stay for a bit, right? To make sure I don't mess anything up?

[He's doubting himself now that he has a cat with him and realizes he has no idea what to do with him.]

[aceofcrows]

I'm going to stay. I'd stay over, but I don't have a change of clothes for tonight.

[shootykawa]

I have some things you could wear!

[He really doesn't want to be left alone tonight with the cat, he's starting to panic.]

[aceofcrows]

Ah... okay. If you don't mind.

[At least they're walking as they talk. And at least Oikawa doesn't live that far from the shop.]

We should order something to eat too.

[shootykawa]

Yes, whatever you want, I'll pay.

[He's trying to speed up a little too, he doesn't like the idea of having an unhappy cat in a box any longer than he has to.]

[aceofcrows]

[keeping up with Oikawa, but he refuses to move too fast]

Sure. We'll figure it out when we get home. Don't go too fast. He'll be fine. I promise. Just take it easy.

[shootykawa]

I don't know that! I've never had a cat in a box before, what if he never forgives me for this!

[Heading into the pet store with no idea what he needs or where he's going.]

[aceofcrows]

[gets a buggy and nudges Oikawa towards the harness/leash/collar aisle]

Here. We can try one of these on him while we're in the shop. He'll probably like it better than being in the box, and it's quieter in here.

[shootykawa]

O-okay.

[He doesn't really understand what Oikawa is offering to do, but he is so at sea here and he's just letting Asahi do whatever. He hands over the box and lets him take care of it.]

[aceofcrows]

[he nods at the shop owner, recognizing her from dealings at the shop as he goes over to the harnesses. He finds a small harness and bungee leash. taking it up to the register, he buys them before Oikawa can blink, and then gets help from the shop owner to get the cat into the harness which looks like an inverted vest that hooks to the leash at Chester's shoulders. She coos happily over the tabby, and he seems resigned to the harness but loving the attention.]

There. [depositing Chester back into the buggy] Now let's find the rest of the stuff we need.

[shootykawa]

[Oikawa is just in awe at how easily he did that.]

Are you sure I didn't get a purring dog?

[aceofcrows]

[he laughs]

You might have, but he looks pretty cat to me.

[he's going down the aisles pointing out some of the necessities -- litter box, litter, litter mat, cat bowls, etc. he'll let Oikawa pick what he wants, but he'll direct him towards what's good. And there's a lot -- A LOT -- of cute things for cats to play with and on and scratch and chase...]
