Welcome to the cat cafe -- Coffee and Cats!

It's a quiet, well-run cat cafe featuring a half dozen permanent residents and another half dozen adoptable cats. The coffee is good, fresh, and prompt, and the sole employee is ... well... he looks a bit like he should be in a gang with his height, long hair, and goatee. However, he's incredibly gentle, shy, and absolutely wonderful with cats and small children. (Even if he's afraid he will break something.)

Come in, find a seat, and enjoy the atmosphere. Open from 11am to 2pm and 6pm to 9pm every day.

You're not taking me away from her. You're not too handsome. You can learn more about cats. Everyone has to has a first sometime. I never had a cat before I started working for her.

Sure. You can see Mama-Cat before she goes home with Owner tonight.

[He comes by after another 20 minutes or so. He's dressed nicely, like he's about to go out for the night and he looks very edgy as he comes in, checking out who is there before he comes in and sits down.]

[aceofcrows]

Hey. Would you like to order?

[he comes over with a menu, but he's beaten to Oikawa's side by a brown tabby who comes running over to jump into his lap]

[shootykawa]

Oh! Hi. Who is this? Can I have a coffee with milk and sugar?

[He doesn't really know what to do with cat, he kind of pats the head and gives it a curious look.]

[aceofcrows]

Ah... that's Chester. He's new.

[he chuckles and goes to get a small bag of treats for Oikawa to give the cat before he goes to make the coffee]

Does he do tricks?

[Oikawa is familiar with dogs...]

[aceofcrows]

He will chase his mouse and bring it back to you. He'll probably chase down the treats if you toss them too. It's good exercise.

[shootykawa]

Are you telling me that he wants to catch my tosses?

[He throws a treat a ways away.]

[aceofcrows]

[the tabby goes tearing off after the treat, bats it around for a few moments and then noms it before trotting back over to Oikawa with a chirrup]

[Oikawa is completely enamored now. He throws another treat further away.]

Oh my god... he does want to catch my tosses.

[aceofcrows]

[laughing as he sets the cup of coffee down on the small table beside Oikawa]

He does. I'll go get his mouse for you.

[happy and amused as he heads off]

[shootykawa]

[Oikawa barely notices the coffee, he's just enjoying this cat right now.]

You're so pretty! I wonder what your name is...

[aceofcrows]

[he is wearing a cat collar with "Chester" on it. he butts his head up under Oikawa's hand... and tries to pull the treats out of his hands :E]

[shootykawa]

Awww... Hey!

[He wasn't expecting duplicity from a cat and now there are treats all over the floor. Chester wins this round.]

[aceofcrows]

[he hops down and bats a few around the room because it's so much better to chase them than just eat them. Oikawa has time to recover most of them if he wants.

Asahi comes out from the back a moment later]

Ah... everything okay?

[shootykawa]

[He's picked most of them up and he's giving the cat a more dubious look now.]

He tricked me! And he got a bunch of treats.

[aceofcrows]

Try this then.

[laughing as he tosses the mouse at Oikawa.

it doesn't make it though. Chester jumps up 3 feet off the ground, batting the mouse out of the air and then tearing off after it in a mad scrabble of glee.]

[shootykawa]

Whoa! He's got a good jump too.

[Yeah, Oikawa likes this cat.]

[aceofcrows]

He is and clever too. He probably won't be with us long. He's got too much personality for that.

[Chester get tired of chasing the mouse himself, and he picks it up carrying it over to Oikawa, dropping it at his feet and chirruping at him again]

So he's available to adopt?

[He picks up the mouse and does a fake out before tossing it to the side.]

Yeah. We just got him a few days ago, and today's his first day visiting the cafe.

[Chester almost falls for the fakeout but he twists and dashes after the mouse going through a pile of pillows to get to it]

What if I want to take him home?

[Oikawa doesn't realize he said that out loud.]
